I'm running an Edelbrock Performer RPM and an Edelbrock 1406 carburetor Performer 289 is also a decent choice but it's just an aluminum version of the stock 4 barrel intake That combination will make enough vacuum for accessories and, provided you aren't chasing vacuum leaks, should be about as reliable as you can get

Don't bother with Edelbrock's standard Performer intake as it's merely an aluminum version of the original Ford intake Instead, opt for the Edelbrock Performer RPM and and a 600 CFM Holley or Quickfuel carburetor 600 CFM gives you room to grow as well if you choose to upgrade anything else on the engine

If you can get your hands on one, the Autolite 4100 1 08 venturi carb (for Mustang, NOT Thunderbird,etc ) is a great carb, perhaps one of the best carbs ever made On a stock Ford 4V manifold is good An Edelbrock F4B is pretty similar to the old ford Cobra Shelby manifold, that would represent a good upgrade
