So I went out and took a look at the trans on the 345 I have the same one as Jim - Tuff Torq K70A Part # AM124629 I don't have any leaks on the top of the trans, the sides and top are dry I did find a small leak around the drain plug, but that's an easy fix for another day

Both the Z300 and Z500 series Zero turns have Lower quality transmissions The downside to the Z540R is that the Tuff-Torq transmissions on it are still equivalent to a Hydro-Gear ZT-2200 (EZT) which is what is used in the Z325E you are looking at So Both the Z300 and Z500 Have Lower quality Twin transmissions

A bit of an update: There appears to be a transmission change around 1997 or so My Simplicity is a 2000 year model, and does indeed have the Tuff Torq transmission I've seen a 1997 Simplicity repair manual, and I think they referred to a Sunstrand transmission Please don't hold me to the Sunstrand model, as I only saw the manual briefly
