- What is the difference between Ghidra and Ida?
Ghidra is free and open-source on GitHub, including the decompiler IDA is very expensive, particularly when you start adding the decompiler licenses IDA supports some architectures that Ghidra doesn't, and vice versa IDA has a debugger whereas Ghidra does not As of 2021, the stable branch of Ghidra now incorporates a debugger through gdb or
- Ghidra VS IDA Pro : r ghidra - Reddit
Ghidra's price tag is $0 and has I'd argue 80-85% of the feature set that IDA does, and has some things that IDA doesn't have Also as far as decompilers, you have to pay for each one with IDA, and with Ghidra it can more or less "figure it out" on it's own from it's own pcode, even with no extra support
- Ghidra vs IDA vs Cutter vs Radars : r LiveOverflow - Reddit
Ghidra seems to the more interessant regarding as my opinion to the price for entry-level user (i e for student) and the wide processors supported (NES, GameBoy, etc) But his decompiler is broken (Need to revise some types, class and so on ) Also IDA and especially IDA PRO is the industry standard
- IDA Educational vs. Ghidra for learning malware analysis
IDA supports Python scripting and Ghidra supports Python Java as well You don't have a debugger with Ghidra so you'd have to pair it with Olly Immunity WinDBG to do some dynamic static analysis Finally, there is also Binary Ninja, Hopper for iOS and another platform, ADB or something, for Android devices
- IDA Pro vs Ghidra vs BinaryNinja - which do you use?!? - Reddit
This subreddit is for technical professionals to discuss cybersecurity news, research, threats, etc
- Which framework should I learn or at least get familiar with first . . .
IDA is terrific but be prepared to pay if you want to unlock its full potential I only use Radare2 for its delightful GUI called Iaito (or you can just install cutter rizin) Be sure to get familiar with a debugger like gdb, x64dbg or any other of the popular solutions (it will aid your reversing efforts considerably, also look into sandboxes
- IDA vs Ghidra vs x64dbg : r AskReverseEngineering - Reddit
IDA: Static analysis, expensive but kind of industry standard Ghira: Static analysis, open source, NSA, rising trend x64dbg: Dynamic analysis, open source and Windows only It's like modern ollydbg
- tools - Is there any disassembler to rival IDA Pro? - Reverse . . .
IDA Pro is pretty unique with its capabilities and if you add the Hex-Rays Decompiler Plugin into the equation, things look bleak for the wannabe contenders However, for casual disassembly and even some decompiling Hopper seems a good choice for anyone not willing to shell out hundreds of bucks for IDA Pro
- Which RE tool should I choose: Radare vs Ghidra : r securityCTF - Reddit
Ghidra's decompilation is extremely good, it's also useful if you are newer to reverse engineering because you can simply click on lines in the decompilation window and it will take you to the relevant assembly in the main window - which is good for learning what various C constructs look like in assembly
