I have slides from 5 different processing facilities On all of them, the numbered side is the "shiny" side and the side with the company info (when present) is the emulsion side If held at the right angle, you can actually see the image relief on the emulsion side

They just started offering direct prints from slides on "Fuji Crystal Archive" paper
