In my experience, the Lofi 12 XT is way more intuitive and easier to learn It has a completely different sound though That crunchy low fidelity SP1200 vibe, while the 404’s “sound” comes from its effects, the output without fx is transparent like a DAW Depends on what you like and want to make 🤷♂️

As an fan of the genre, they are clearly the solid foundations to lofi success Great pick I'd had to the list : Shigeto, Dorian Concept, Mndsgn, Gaslamp Killer and everyone graviting the Brainfeeder label And my personal favorite : Dimlite A lot of these are a far stretch from lofi but it's in my mind still in the same extended genre

Solitude is IMO one of, if not the best lofi albums ever made, definitely worth a listen for anyone who hasn’t Some others for the classics list I would recommend are; 90sflav, Cormac, Saiko, mujo, and Driver For lofi rap, JarJarJr basically pioneered the whole lofi flip that so many people do, his stuff is on SoundCloud
