Being I have a very ulcer prone horse I find keeping forage in front of then 24 7 is the cheapest prevention Ice is currently on powdered omeprazole for 60 days after that vet suggested trying uckeles gut supplement not terribly expensive so going to give it a try

ETA for I horse I knew was prone to them or those on meds that caused issue I used Ukele G U T Morgan Taylor above had good response to Gastro Elm Everyone here that has shared has had some experience with what they recommend and it worked for their horse in their situation

The OP's hooves appear more oval in shape and I agree with @waresbear that the horse needs the stretched toe to be trimmed back and probably is landing toe first That being said, just seeing a ridge of sole in the toe does not always mean a horse lands toe first or is unbalanced
