- CommNet - Kerbal Space Program Wiki
CommNet is a relay and control communication system implemented first in KSP 1 2 pre-release With CommNet enabled (as a difficulty setting), antennae have limited range from which control and transmission of science data is possible
- Communications relays- basic setup - Kerbal Space Program Forums
Two relays on opposite elliptic sides of a 30-45° plane will keep both poles covered the majority of the time Generally, there's not a lot of point in spending a lot of time on the Farside Often, you only want to hit the biomes there one time, in a batch
- KSP Relay Network Guide : r KerbalSpaceProgram - Reddit
To start, all of your relays must be on the same vehicle: This method doesn't work if each relay is sent on its own We'll call it the mothership Send your mothership to whatever planet you intend to put the relays around, set its inclination to whatever you want it, and then set the apoapsis to the altitude that you want your relays to orbit at
- Where to place Relay Satellites? :: Kerbal Space Program General . . .
So in short my question is, what is a good orbit to place a relay satellite in if I want to communicate from the far side of the Mun or Minmus? I was thinking that maybe putting relay satellites in a high polar orbit around the Mun and Minmus might do the trick

- How do you build your relay network? Stylewise - Kerbal Space Program . . .
I typically put 3 relays around any planet in a regular triangle, (near) equatorial, a ways outside the orbit of the furthest moon, plus 1 or 2 in a polar orbit, these ones typically inside the orbit of any moons
- Tutorial:Setting up a CommNet system - Kerbal Space Program
With the addition of CommNet, you need a system of relays to connect back to the KSC Here's how to set up a constellation of satellites to ensure complete coverage Add some Gigantor-XL solar panels around the outside Three panels is enough for near Kerbin, but you'll need more if you go farther out Done!
- Placing my communication satelites :: Kerbal Space Program General . . .
Set the first relay as your target and play with manuevers until your closest approach is about 180 degrees away from your target Perform the manuever and circularize and you're done Most relay systems need at least 3 satellites
