hey guys ive got a problem ive read the common issuses with the raptor 660's my bike wont start ive disassembled the carb n cleaned it to the point i would eat off it lol ive put new spark plug in it ive removed the tank n dumped it filled with new gas changed the oil clean fuel line clean the all the vacuum lines cleaned out the inline

The best way i can say it is that Yamaha did a great job "fixing" the Raptor 660 when they bilt the 700 The 700 is a much more efficent design and maintenence is a breeze compared to the 660 All of the 660s problems were corrected with the 700's design ie: swingarm design and chain adjustment, exhaust studs that break, intake air filter clamp

my son"s 05 raptor 80 had the same problem it would idle nice then scream like hell There is an air adjustment screw on the carb just to the left of the idle screw it may have a small plug over it that can easily be removed with the quad running, turn that screw all the way in in and start backing it out slowly that fix the idle problem
